Stok Kangri Trek, An easy and a high peak is what Stok Kangri

(6,160 m) is famous for. People from young ages to the elder can

join this expedition. Our route takes you deep into the landscape

among some of the world’s highest mountains and spectacular

landscapes and sparkling mid-winter stars.Our Camps & Hotel are

at about 3500 metres (11,480 feet).Starting from Stok village, just

south of Leh, we ascend to Mankarmo to make camp and adjust to

the high mountains. Surrounded by steep mountain hills, this rocky

landscape is home only to the ibex and hawks. Relax and prepare

for your climb.Coming straight to the altitude of min 3,200 m from a

much lower place can cause some health problems. So to avoid that,

we suggest our guest to take complete rest for a day to get acclimatized.

Next day we continue to Stok Kangri base-camp (4,950m) where we

acclimatize to the Stok Kangri Trek (mountain).Here we will train you

in the basic skills appropriate for the climb. Our ascent of Stok Kangri

(6,123m) starts at midnight when the snow and ice is fully frozen and

safe to climb. And one good thing about it is that, you can also chose

the technical route to do the Stok Kangri summit...

Stok Kangri Trek Expedition

So, we will start our “Stok Kangri Trek” by visiting Hemis and Thiksey monastery at first and then Stok palace. Stok village which is around half an hour drive and then start the trek .Overnight stay at Mankarmo camp site. We will climb a further 100 m and then come back down again to get an early night in preparation for tomorrow's summit attempt.This is a great walk passing by numerous ruins of old forts and castles. It takes around six hours to reach Stok village where we are met by waiting vehicles. We then drive one hour back to Leh. Enjoy and celebrate the evening
